CATEGORY A+

The A+ category designates, within the A category, bodies with a vocation to occupy senior management jobs. At the MEAE, since the reform, these have mainly been the corps d'extinction des conseillers des affaires étrangères et ministres plénipotentiaires (CAEMP) and the corps d'extinction des administrateurs de l'État (AE).

The upheaval in the status of our ministry's A+ executives is one of the corollaries of the reform of ENA and the senior civil service desired and initiated by the government. Fiercely opposed to the reform, the CFDT-MAE has distinguished itself through numerous communication and explanatory actions, in the MEAE's own social dialogue bodies and those of the entire civil service, in the national press, and with elected representatives of the Republic.

In fact, our trade union organisation believes that it is not corporatism to want seasoned and professional diplomats to serve our influence, our attractiveness and our interests in Europe and the world : it is to work for the credibility of our country internationally and strengthen its attractiveness.

Negotiating, informing, representing our country and protecting French communities abroad are missions that must be carried out by trained and experienced diplomats.
