Since 2005, the CFDT-MAE has been the most representative union at the Ministry. As of May 1, 2023, our organization has over 1,000 paid-up members (representing 8% of staff under job ceilings and over 6% of total MEAE staff, RL colleagues in the cultural network included) and about twenty sections worldwide.

The CFDT-MAE Union Council (CS), currently made up of 23 members, is the union's decision-making body and political structure. Elected from its ranks are 8 members of the executive committee - including the general secretary, assisted by two deputy general secretaries, and the treasurer - each politically accountable to the SC for one or more of the union's missions.
